Terms of Use
Effective September 7, 2026. Last updated September 7, 2026.
1. Who operates CaseSteps
CaseSteps is operated by Veritas Justice Reform, a for-profit business based in West Hollywood, California. The mailing address is in section 16.
2. Acceptance
By using casesteps.org, you agree to these Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy and the Legal Disclaimer. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
3. Age requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to submit written feedback. Freely available general educational pages may be read by anyone.
4. Nature of the service
CaseSteps provides general legal education, blank organizational tools and printable worksheets. CaseSteps does not provide legal advice, legal services, representation, document preparation, filing assistance or individual case review. The Legal Disclaimer is part of these Terms.
5. No confidential information
Do not submit or enter:
- Names
- Case numbers
- Court dates
- Addresses
- Identification numbers
- Medical information
- Detailed allegations or charge narratives
- Sealed or confidential materials
- Communications with counsel
- Other privileged information
Information submitted to CaseSteps does not become protected by attorney-client privilege. Entries you make in a roadmap, organizer or worksheet stay in the page during your current browser session and are not transmitted to CaseSteps, as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. CaseSteps is currently free
The CaseSteps tools currently available on this website are provided without charge. There is no CaseSteps checkout, no payment processor is connected, and CaseSteps does not currently sell access to its educational readings or organizers. CaseSteps does not collect payment information. You do not need an account to read the public materials or to use the organizers available today.
Because nothing on CaseSteps can be purchased, there is no CaseSteps refund process. If paid features are ever offered, the applicable payment, tax and refund terms will be published before any payment is accepted.
7. Organizers, printing and third-party books
Entries you make in a roadmap, organizer or worksheet stay in your current browser session, are not transmitted to CaseSteps and are not stored in a CaseSteps account. Printing an organizer or saving it as a PDF is performed by your own device, and CaseSteps does not send an organizer to an attorney or to anyone else.
Book listings link to Amazon. Any purchase takes place on Amazon and is governed by Amazon’s own terms. The links contain no CaseSteps affiliate or tracking code, and CaseSteps receives no commission.
8. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Scrape or systematically copy the site
- Resell the content
- Present CaseSteps content as your own
- Present the content as legal advice
- Use the site to impersonate an attorney or a government agency
- Attempt to access private administrator or reviewer systems
- Interfere with the security or operation of the site
You may print and use worksheets for yourself or for someone you support. Attorneys and legal teams may share blank organizers and public educational links with their clients. Ordinary linking to public CaseSteps pages is welcome.
9. Intellectual property
Original CaseSteps content and branding belong to Veritas Justice Reform. Federal and state government materials remain subject to their own public-domain or usage rules. A link to an official source does not transfer ownership of that source to CaseSteps.
10. Feedback
Suggestions submitted through CaseSteps may be used to improve the site without payment or obligation to the person submitting them. Submitting feedback does not create an attorney-client relationship, request representation or provide legal notice.
11. No warranties
To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, the site is provided “as is” and “as available.” CaseSteps does not promise that every page will always be current, complete, uninterrupted or error-free. CaseSteps does continue to show its sources, the scope of each page and the date each page was last reviewed.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Veritas Justice Reform will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from use of CaseSteps. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, total liability for a paid service will not exceed the amount the purchaser paid for that service during the 12 months before the claim. No CaseSteps service is currently offered for a fee.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Veritas Justice Reform against claims arising from your unlawful misuse of the site or your material violation of these Terms. This provision does not apply to ordinary, lawful use of the site.
14. Changes
Material changes to these Terms are shown through a revised “Last updated” date above. Where appropriate, a prominent notice will also appear on the homepage.
15. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to applicable consumer-protection law, disputes must be brought in a state or federal court located in Los Angeles County, California.
